Skinfood Black Sugar Mask Wash Off. Hi everyone. A short blog post today I guess. Earlier this month, I've got a new mask from Skinfood that I bought at Althea Korea during their AltheaTurns2 birthday celebration (still happening until end of July 2017). I have been using this Skinfood Black Sugar wash off mask for few times since bought and I am excited to share my thoughts. 

KBeauty junkies, I assume you have tried this Black Sugar Wash Off Mask, Skinfood's most popular mask. For those who haven't​ try yet, let's glace a bit on introduction below. Mana tahu ada yang eager nak try jugak lepas ni kan. Grin. Without further ado, let's jump to the review.

Black Sugar Mask Wash Off from Skinfood is an exfoliating and hydrating mask wash off with black sugar granules. Instead of white sugar, Skinfood use unrefined black sugar that enriched with vitamins and minerals and organically farmed without pesticides. As sugar is a natural humectant, it help to restores nutrients and helping it to retain moisture to skin. At the end, it will give us a hydrate and nourish skin after using this mask. Althea said, "This mask also has self-heating properties to allow pores to open for easy absorption of nutrients". Is it hot? Worry not, because while using this mask, I barely feel any hot/harsh feeling on my face. No irritation at all.

Skin Exfoliation is essential to keep our skin healthy and glowing.  It is indeed one of the important step in cleansing step if you want to have a fair looking skin. They are two type of exfoliator, first is physical exfoliator and second is chemical exfoliators​ (correct me if I am wrong).

"Physical Exfoliators refers to the use of physical scrub to manually remove dead skin cells on your skin surface. Chemical Exfoliators refers to the use of acids and actives (aka. vitamin C, vitamin A, AHA, BHA, PHA) to clear away impurities both on the skin surface and beneath (i.e. pores)" - Carolyn's Lavender Garden 

So, in this case, black sugar would be considered a type of physical exfoliant. Sugar have grainy texture that make it a perfect ingredient for scrubbing that can removes dead skin cell manually. For those who have a sensitive skin and prefer a milder exfoliant, I would recommend you to try this Black Sugar Mask Wash Off. The mask leaves skin moisturized, soft, and free of dead skin cell.

Sucrose, Peg-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Glycerin, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Lanolin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Stearalkonium Hectorite, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil, Sorbitan Laurate, Bht, Butylparaben, Fragrance, Caramel

After cleansing, apply the desired amount into damp skin, or mix with water/cosmetic water and massage gently. Avoid skin around the eyes and lips. After 10-15 mins rinse with lukewarm water.

This mask is packed in a sturdy and thick plastic jar. The size of the jar is quite nice for me. Well, you doesn't need to bring it anytime with you as we don't scrub everyday. The big opener is okay for me, just need you to use mini spatula for the hygiene purpose. 

This mask has a very thick paste and have a grainy texture of black sugar. I like how the product can be easily adjust to be milder on the skin by just adding a little more water/toner to reduce irritation from scrubbing action. Massage gently and treat your skin like a baby will you? The mask is dark brown and it smell nice too. 

The mask is gentle enough for my skin and I have a good feeling after rinsing off the mask. After every use, my skin is always softer and smoother. I can feel my skin is clean. Thank you for gently removing the dead skin cell for me. No feeling of irritation or tightness. And it also doesn't leave my skin dry (I have normal to dry skin).

Black Sugar Mask Wash Off from Skinfood is a great mechanical exfoliator. I really love how I can control the product to be milder on my skin. The product is good and sold for an affordable price, so definitely will repurchase.
